Rubie Green

For those of you who have been eagerly anticipating the launch of Lonny, the online design/decor magazine created by Editor in Chief Michelle Adams of Rubie Green, it’s here!  When Domino closed down early this year, many of it’s loyal readers felt that with Domino gone, there was a void in the decor magazine world.  Well, I am so happy to say that Lonny is a stunning publication, which delivers fresh designs and decor resources.  In addition to breath-taking interior and exterior spaces, Lonny also offers a wealth of design resources and inspirations.  Take a look at some of the magazines pages below and head over to Lonny to see the rest!

It seems that more and more company’s are offering Green products and more and more people are looking for ways to be Green.  ”Going Green” may seem like a tedious task, but it is actually something we can all do with no more effort than we would normally out forth :) , with much more satisfaction.  Not only will you have a great product, but you will be contributing to the health of the planet along with your own personal health, in many cases.

One product that I recently came upon, are these beautiful Monogrammed Plates sold at Horchow.

 Horchow Monogrammed Plates

Pick up a set (or two) of these stylish plates and you won’t have to worry about buying plastic plates for your BBQ’s this summer.  These melamine plates are BPA-free (benefitting your health), virtually unbreakable, dishwasher safe, and made in the good old USA. Take your cookout style to the next level while also keeping waste out of landfills.  And here’s a bonus:  For today only, you can get them for 10% off and free shipping! (use code FREEDOM at checkout)

Another set of products that I am excited about getting for my place are the Sani-Mate and Bamboo Shower Caddy sold by Gaiam.

bathroom

The Sani-Mate is an economical way to destroy airborne odors, bacteria, viruses, molds, chemicals, smoke and allergens.  I think this will be prefect for my bathroom.  My condo was built in 1948 and later converted from apartments to condos.  In the conversion, bathroom ventilation was left out, so the bathroom will hold moisture after a shower and can cause mildew.

The Bamboo Shower Caddy is made of sustainable bamboo, which makes it naturally resistant to water.  Because it is made of bamboo, it will continue to look great for a long time, is not hazardous to our health, and is much easier on the environment due to the short growth cycle of bamboo. (Thanks to Jennae over at Green Your Decor for sharing Gaiam with us)

I am also loving the East Village fabric and and Tillinghast sheet set by Designer Michelle Adams of Rubie Green.  Both of which are made using only 100% organic cotton.  These designs are absolutely beautifully timeless and proof that being Green can be fun!

rubiegreenAnd get this!  Designer Michelle Adams (who worked with at beloved Domino Magazine) has just announced the highly anticipated arrival of a new online decorating and lifestyle magazine, Lonny.  With Domino gone :( , I can’t wait to see this new magazine!
