Color Everywhere

by Tekesia

Have you guys seen the March issue of House Beautiful? Β When I pulled it out of my mailbox my first thought was WOW. Β I am all about color and this issue is FULL of gorgeous color inspiration. Β If you love pink and if you love bright, bold colors, you will love this issue! Β I scanned a few images from the magazine to share :) .

…And speaking of color, have you guys heard that Kelly Wearstler has a new blog?! Β To me, Kelly is the queen of color. Β I love that she is never afraid to go all the way with her designs. Β I can’t wait to see all of the great inspiration she shares on her blog :) .

Lana Gomez

by Tekesia

Lana Gomez is a Los Angeles based mixed media artist who’s artwork I absolutely LOVE.Β  I had to share some of my favorite paintings with you all because her paintings make such powerful statements and are absolutely beautiful.Β  The vibrant and bold colors in her paintings are what caught my attention immediately.Β  There is such a sense of freedom in her paintings and I love that they are so non-traditional.Β  I would love to have one of her paintings in my home.Β  I would probably stare at it all day (lol).

Indulgence Divine

by Tekesia

With the freezing cold temperatures that we’ve been experiencing on the east coast, I am completely over winter and already dreaming of spring (and a relaxing getaway).Β  I came across Indulgence Divine recently and fell in love with it.Β  Indulgence Divine is a boutique luxury accommodation located in Malta, an island in the Mediterranean Sea.Β  The boutique was restored from a 450 year old house and it mixes gorgeous contemporary and stylish design while maintaining the historic character of the home.Β  Something I really love to do when I’m on vacation is to find spots where I can get a taste of the culture and slow things down a little.

The boutiques owners also kept sustainability in mind and equipped the boutique with solar water heating, insulation, and rain-water harvesting.Β  :)

I absolutely love AphroChic’s new Brooklyn Renaissance collection!Β  The collection is designed by Jeanine Hayes, a policy attorney and design blogger turned full-time designer (go Jeanine!).Β  It includes pillows, tabletop, wallpaper, and even shower curtains.Β  The products are made with the environment in mind and using organic materials.

I am ALL about these beautiful bold colors and unique prints.Β  It’s the kind of collection that just makes ya feel happy!Β  I already have a couple of things from this collection on my wish list :) .

Falling Whistles…

by Tekesia

A few days ago a Falling Whistles necklace caught my attention and once I learned the significance of the necklace I knew that I had to share it.Β  One-hundred percent of the proceeds from these necklaces goes toward rehabilitating and advocating for war-affected children in The Democratic Republic of Congo.Β  In the Congo, thousands of children are being forced into war.Β  The children, being too small to carry guns, are forced onto the front lines of battle armed with only a whistle to alert forces of an incoming attack.Β  These children are therefore the first to be killed.Β  The proceeds from Falling Whistles necklaces (and other products) go toward helping children to escape the war region and toward providing food, education, the arts, and medical treatment.

I really love the necklaces because they benefit such a wonderful cause and are also SO stylish.
