About

profilepic102Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for the arts and design. Anything that has anything to do with creativity, or the inspiration that sparks that creativity, captivates me. As a kid I would paint, decorate and re-decorate my room. I took on photography and would make my friends and little sisters dress up and participate in all kinds of “photo-shoots”. I would stay up all night working on projects that I had thought up. The simplest creative task would keep me intrigued forever lol. I can honestly say, that when I am doing something that I love, it takes no effort to put my whole self in it. And when I’m not…well, its worse than trying to swim upstream without flippers. Throughout college, as well as my professional life, I would become completely engulfed in creative projects, creative arts, graphics, Β interior design, and fashion.

So how did I end up as a Software Engineer? Well, I guess that goes back to my fascination with science and my gift of problem solving. I always thought that it was interesting, and then went on to study the sciences further, so that I could one day have a successful career. But what is success? For me, success has taken on a new meaning in my life. Being the perfectionist that I am :) I have always wanted to be the best at everything I do. To live up to what I thought I should be. Today, after learning a few more life lessons and being brought to a halt by illness, I believe my personal success to be doing what I love and to be happy doing it, regardless of how much it pays. It means being present in this moment and to be spiritually ALIVE. Life is too short to not be doing what you love, seeking your purpose, and doing what makes you feel free, whatever that may be. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, its easy to get away from those things.

To friends, family, and co-workers, I’m known as the “social butterfly” (which could be partly due to my work as a Bartender :) ). I recently bought my first condo, and decorating it has put that spark back in me, to the point that I don’t want to do much of anything else! I have had so much fun making accessories, refinishing furniture and helping others with their projects, that I have decided that it is time for me to get serious about embarking on my new journey of self discovery, back to my old loves.

I hope that you will enjoy reading of my adventures and my inspiring finds here at Apartment #102, and I hope that you will share some of your own inspirations and journey’s as well :)
