Making a Splash! (with your tile and backsplash)

by Tekesia

I was talking to my Aunt and Uncle today (hey Donnie and Leara) and they have recently remodeled their kitchen.  This immediately got me brainstorming about my own place.  I’m not up to any major remodels just yet, but I love coming up with great ideas for projects so that when I am ready, I know what I want (I’m kinda indecisive because I like so many things).  Their kitchen remodel got me thinking about my kitchen and bathroom.  I live in a 1 bedroom condo, so whatever I choose, has to maximize my space and give the illusion of openness.  So, I think glass tiles would be perfect (for either or both).  I love the glass tiles because they reflect so much light (and they sparkle) and there are so many combinations of colors and mosaics that you can choose from…any color your heart desires.

Here are a few I found …

And what makes these tiles even better is that you can install the tile sheets yourself with VERY minimal tools, which makes it a perfect weekend job. Check out these DIY instructions from HGTV.com

Right! I love how they sparkle. And that bathroom that leads to the outdoors is PERFECT. Can you imagine having that every day. I love it.

And if you like to go green, I believe you can get these that are made out of recycled glass as well.

Yep..I saw some with recycled glass that were really pretty. You can also do some really creative projects with it like adding decoration around the side of a side table or something.
