I Come Bearing Sweets!

by Tekesia

Hello and welcome to Apartment #102! This is my first blog post (ever), so I saw it only fitting that I should bring dessert :) One of my absolutely favorite places to get dessert is a little well-known shop called Cakelove.  The Cakelove story is an inspirational one that I can personally relate to, and one that inspires others to follow their dreams.  Cakelove’s founder Warren Brown was a Washington DC lawyer before taking a leap of faith and following his passion to open his own cake shop, and I am personally glad that he did.  At times I find myself going out JUST to get one of his cupcakes (I know, I know, but what can I say).  What makes Cakelove’s recipes so special, besides the care by which they are made, and the creativity behind each recipe, is that instead of using water and butter in the batter, Warren Brown’s recipes use cream.   I’m telling you, this gives the desserts a taste and texture that is undescribeable.  For those who prefer vegan or gluten free, he has a delicious recipe for you too!

Here are just a few…
